In light of all this recent activity in my life i came across this quotation while cleaning out my destroye car which was stolen on 10/1/09 :( it's kind of been the icing on the cake with all the other goat shit that has been flaring up lately. It's odd b/c this statement always rings true in my head, but it was in print today with an incredible source, i took it as a sign.
I figured if we're all in control of our own destiny then why do we settle? why do we get comfortable? why do we make soo many decisions out of fear? STOP!!! if there should be someone who is fearful right now it should be me, but im not. I will give a quick rundown so you know i have some credible "shit" to be frightened of;
-No job, unemployed for 2 months now: bills just keep coming.
-3 mouths to feed.
-Appendix burst, no health insurance (ACCESS turmoile due to the next point.)
-Identity Theft( an illegal and a negligible company have active use of my SS#, shit ton of work!)
-IRS has me under a microscope right now.
-New car that was purchased 3 months ago with 25k miles on it: Stolen, and totalled! :( im stuck down here in a different city till i can get things right with insurance.
-GI Bill still has a few more weeks till it kicks in.
Enough of the pity party, i don't list this to get sympathy from anyone, i come to inspire. I just wanted the observer/reader to know that all this activity is recent, shitty and real so when i come to put in my two cents you know it's not you ALONE in this world with a rough road, there are a lot of equally bad and worse stories out there.
Yes i am a comedian, but not everything i have to put out there has to have humor. I apologize if thats the sole reason your reading this.
You're an ARCHITECT! Your LIFE is your HOUSE/MANSION/MASTERPIECE. The foundation is your morals and beliefs. Your tools are your ACTIONS! I live with passion and conviction, i am not driven by money or material in life, I just want to be able to always be happy with whatever it is im doing b/c it's the right thing to do. I know who i WANT to be. I ask of everyone; don't be affraid! Make the decision with the life that you WANT. It's easy! Ask yourself; Who do i WANT to be? What would THAT person do in this situation?
Now i know, probably like well Garrett what the fuck are you asking of THAT person right now? How not to succeed? No i am not, it's darkest before the light, and i BELIEVE in myself and all of you that what you want and need will be attained when you shed the fear.
Shed the fear! Victory starts with the Belief! Your conviction confirms your destiny!
